Besides digital content, RC Release Company continues to distribute content on DVD and Blu-ray. This year will see the release of approximately 30 new titles, including such kids’ programming as Maus and Bobo, as well as the Swedish film The Boy with the Golden Pants and the docs Drone and Vikings—Man and Women. With its new partner, Alive!, the company is also reorganizing the distribution of its DVD and Blu-ray releases for adults. The distribution of kids’ content will continue to be handled by Universum Film.
Ingo Vandré, the managing director at RC Release Company, said: “Last year, we were able to firmly establish ourselves as a relevant content aggregator, and hence as a fine player in the VOD market. We were able to expand our distribution network and now work with all of the relevant VOD providers. We also managed to position our label with strong children’s brands and exclusive DVD products.”
Vandré added: “Good documentaries are in high demand in the VOD market. We are meeting this demand with the outstanding and versatile catalogue provided by Autentic Distribution.”
RC Release Company also signed an exclusive rights agreement with Amazon Prime for the ARD series In aller Freundschaft—Die jungen Ärzte. As of today, which marks the start of the second season, the format will be available through SVOD the day after its linear broadcast.
